After putting up a great fight against the Corvette Z06 a couple of weeks ago, the 2017 Camaro ZL1 is at it again, this time looking to punch slightly above its weight in a fight against the 707 HP (716 PS) Challenger Hellcat.

It’s a battle of pure muscle here, and John Hennessey is looking to be the referee between these two iconic American sports cars (supercars really), neither of which have had any custom work done.

So the way they were meant to come out of the factory was by carrying along 650 HP (659 PS) and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque when it comes to the Camaro ZL1, whereas the Challenger Hellcat packs 707 HP (716 PS) and the same amount of torque at 650 lb-ft (881 Nm).

On paper, their 0-60 mph (96 km/h) acceleration times are nearly identical, with just 0.1 seconds separating them, and with a rolling start, the Hellcat is much more likely to get off to a good start without losing much or any traction at all.

Just like with the ZL1 vs Z06 drag race, this one is pretty darn close as well, but as always, there can be only one winner – so who are you picking?
