Nissan’s product-redesign blitz continues with the Maxima sedan, which receives a very modest refresh for the 2012 model year.
The cosmetic tweaks on the outside include a different front grille design, restyled rear combination lights, and new 18-inch and 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels plus the addition of two new exterior colors named Java Metallic and Dark Slate.
The interior was largely left alone save for the meter cluster illumination in white, a new audio segment display and a revised audio/HVAC knob design plus the introduction of Dark Piano-hairline trim, Atlantic Cherry wood tone trim, metallic-finish trim, and a Cafe Latte interior color.
The 2012 Maxima is still powered by a 290-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 engine matched to Nissan’s Xtronic CVT transmission.
While the Maxima continues to be offered in two trim levels for the 2012MY, the S and the SV with no price increase (at $31,750 and $34,450 respectively, not including a destination fee), Nissan has added special Limited Edition Package for the S model.
Priced at $750, the package adds a smoked High Intensity Discharge (HID) Xenon headlights, a compass in the rearview mirror, 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels in a Dark Hyper Silver finish, a rear spoiler, dark satin chrome front grille, fog lights, outside mirrors with integrated turn signals and metallic trim.
