After its motor show debut in Geneva last month, ABT Sportline has now announced the commercial launch of its modification package for the second generation of the New Volkswagen Beetle.

The German aftermarket firm starts with a power kit for the Beetle’s 2.0-liter TFSI that bumps output from 197hp (200PS) to 236hp (240PS).

A lowered sport suspension along with a two-pipe exhaust system and more powerful 340x30mm disk brakes with painted calipers round out the list of ABT’s performance modifications for the 2012 Beetle.

On the outside, the retro-flavored Beetle can be fitted with a seven-piece styling kit that includes a front spoiler, headlamp and taillight covers, a rear apron with a diffuser and a license plate décor.

The package is completed by a choice of lightweight alloy wheels available in 18-, 19- and 20-inch sizes, plus a carbon-look décor kit in black with red accents.
