Stanford University in California is home to some of the most brilliant young minds in the country. But with all this “young” comes the mostly testosterone and alcohol driven thoughts of any 20 year old genius. Why? Because of an autonomous racecar.

Shelley, Stanford’s autonomous Audi TTS, which we saw climb Pikes Peak back in 2009, is back on the track for some high speed testing.

Taking on California’s Thunderhill Raceway, Shelley clocks in at an impressive 120 mph (193 km/h) top speed as students cower in fear the in driver and passenger seats.

While the Stanford Engineering Department says this car cannot be used on the road as Google’s autonomous Prius can, they do say that the technology can be utilized someday to enhance safety features on passenger cars.

Check out Shelley on the track after the break.
