Here we have what our spies believe to be, the first shots of the third generation Hyundai Tucson, also known as the ix35 in Europe, Australia and elsewhere.

Blame Hyundai’s engineers for not allowing us a better view of what’s lurking under the heavy camouflage, but what is visible to the naked eye, looks more chiseled and less swoopy than on the current version of the soft off-roader, which is in line with the Korean maker’s so-called Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design theme.

At this point, we’re short on details regarding the chassis, powertrains and other details of the mechanical kind, but Hyundai has been keen on moving ahead with turbocharging for its petrol units, so we could see a new generation of greener and more potent units.

Look for the new Tucson / ix35 to arrive within the next year or so.
