Even if Porsche has a pretty comprehensive range of very different 911s, and has had one for quite some time, people, and especially enthusiasts, will find niches that they feel need exploiting.

For instance, this is the 911 CSR – it’s a fairly lightly tweaked 997 that’s had a lot of time invested into it so that it’s better than factory spec, while still retaining the factory flavor.

The goal of RPM Technik was just that – to upgrade everything about it, while at the same time doing their best to fool people into thinking it was an actual official model; just look at the CSR script on the (lightened carbon fiber) ducktail – it looks like something any lightweight Porsche would have.

The engine has not really been given a crazy boost in power – it has been rebuilt with uprated components and a strengthened block, but it only makes around 20 extra horsepower. It does breathe out through a custom free-flow exhaust, so its bark is quite savage, though.
