A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… Well, if you’re a Star Wars fan you know the score between the Jedi and the Dark Side. Chances are you also know there’s a new film coming on December 15, 2015 – and we have the first trailer right below.

The first of three sequels, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is directed by J.J. Abrams of Alias, Lost, Fringe, Person of Interest and the two last installments of Mission: Impossible. In a nice twist of fate, Abrams was also behind the Star Trek reboot, so you can say he’s kind of a science fiction demi-god.

George Lucas directed the first six “episodes” but in 2012 The Walt Disney Company acquired Lucasfilm for the princely sum of US$4.05 billion. Still, they had the good sense to keep Lucas around as a creative consultant to help them keep the story line consistent with the Star Wars mythology.

“I mostly say, ‘You can’t do this’, ‘You can do that’”, he told Bloomberg Businessweek. “You know, ‘The cars don’t have wheels, they fly with antigravity’”.

Now, here’s a thought: What if antigravity didn’t exist in the Star Wars universe? What if characters had to drive actual cars?

If that sounds weird, you might want to consider the life-size Darth Vader Car that was unveiled by Hot Wheels at the 2014 Comic-Con. Yep, Luke’s father aka Anakin Skywalker is dead and all but, hey, he practically owns the movies, right?

Granted, it looks the part with that Vader-helmet front end but wouldn’t something more sinister be appropriate for the ultimate Sith Lord? A Mercedes-Benz SLS Black Series, for example, or perhaps an SRT Viper – all painted black, of course – are a couple that spring to mind.

What say thee? Feel free to comment (and share photos) right below – and watch the first trailer of “The Force Awakens” after the virtual (pun intended, me thinks) jump.
