Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Launched in the UK, Priced From £20,490

This year marks the 60th anniversary of one of Alfa Romeo’s key models, the Giulietta Sprint, a car with great looks that was relatively affordable and loved by most car enthusiasts.

To celebrate this milestone, the Italian brand has launched a new version of the Giulietta mid-size hatchback in the UK: the aptly named Sprint. Like the 1954 original, it is powered by an engine with less than 1,400 cc in capacity, though the modern Giulietta Sprint’s 150bhp output is more than double that of its namesake.

The Giulietta Sprint is powered by a 1.4-liter MultiAir turbocharged engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. It sprints from a standstill to 62 mph (100 km) in 8.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 130 mph (210 km/h), while emitting just 131 g/km of CO2.

As befits a special edition, the Sprint comes with a number of unique features such as new 17-inch, five-hole alloys, special badges on the front wings, carbon-effect panels at the doors and the dashboard surround, cloth and Alcantara upholstery, sports rear bumpers and tinted windows. The new Giulietta Sprint will go on sale in the UK early next year, priced from £20,490.
