Many new cars are capable of breaking the 5 sec 0-100km/h (62mph) barrier today, but seeing a luxury saloon the size of an Audi S8 doing it in 3 seconds flat is pretty darn impressive.

It’s no ordinary S8, mind you, but MTM’s Audi S8 Talladega with a modified version of the 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 producing 760PS (750hp) and 945Nm (697 lb-ft) of peak torque. You can call it RS8 since that’s what the German tuner was aiming for, as evidenced by the car’s RS-style cosmetic upgrades.

AutoTopNL took the S8 Talladega out on the road to see what kind of acceleration numbers it returns and the result was explosive, even if it’s not clear if the stated figures are based on the speedometer (likely) or a GPS-based  data-logger:

0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.0 seconds

0-150 km/h (93 mph) in 5.4 seconds

0-200 km/h (124 mph) in 9.2 seconds

0-280 km/h (174 mph) in 14.8 seconds

For the record, MTM itself announces a 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) time of 3.48 seconds and 0 to 200 km/h (124mph) in 10.51 seconds.

Tip of the hat to Alban G.!
