Not that it’s going to blow your mind away with the design updates, but this latest 2016 Boxster tester has done away with all camouflage, sans the deceiving head- and tail-lamp stickers.

The nip-and-tuck for 2016 (possibly labeled as a 2017MY in North America) brings a subtle redesign to the bumpers and side air intakes, new door handles and restyled lights all around on the outside, along with Porsche’s latest infotainment system and likely some minor styling revisions and better materials on the inside.

The twin, center-mounted tailpipes and alloy wheels suggest that what we’re looking at here is the Boxster S model, which in its current state, gets a 3.4-liter flat-six pushing 315hp towards the rear axle through a choice of manual or dual clutch transmissions, but the facelifted “S” is believed to get Porsche’s new family of turbocharged flat-four units.

Yes, if you haven’t heard the chatter lately, Porsche’s regular Boxster and Cayman models will downsize in displacement and cylinders, while gaining in power through turbocharging tech, switching from six to four cylinders. The GT4 will retain its flat-six unit for purists (…and future collectors / flippers).
