Vegas Yellow TTS Graces Audi Showroom Floor

Even though the TT isn’t as aggressive as some of us may have wanted, the TTS version can definitely talk a lot of “trash” towards its rivals.

Say what you will about the Audi TTS, but on paper it’s one seriously impressive car. And I’m not just talking about it’s straight line performance. By the way, make sure to check out our review of the TTS, if you haven’t already.

Of course, there’s more to a sports car than just straight line acceleration, but at the same time, handling isn’t everything. You still have to factor in weight and fuel consumption and this is where the TTS really breaks ground.

Most people choose to compare the TTS with the likes of the Porsche Cayman, BMW Z4 sDrive35i, Mercedes SLK350 and even the Nissan 370Z, and guess what; none of those cars can accelerate as fast as the Audi. Though, if you buy the TTS over the Cayman just because it’s a tiny bit quicker to 100 km/h (62 mph), you’re out of your mind.

That being said, the TTS is a 310 PS all-wheel driven machine, which means that you need another AWD sports car to pin against it if you’re looking to match its straight line ferocity.

My pick would be the BMW M235i xDrive Coupe, which can get from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds (just like the TTS). The problem with the Bimmer is that it’s quite a lot heavier than the Audi, and uses up quite a bit more fuel.

The TTS is probably the smartest choice you can make in this segment if fuel economy matters to you, and you also want an everyday sports car.
