Rolls-Royce Builds Rugby-Themed Bespoke Wraith

Rolls-Royce has unveiled the ‘Wraith – History of Rugby’, a unique creation from the company’s Bespoke Design Studio in Goodwood.

The unique model pays tribute to the game of rugby and has been unveiled at a time where England hosts the Rugby World Cup. Drawing inspiration from the rich history of the quintessentially English sport, the team of designers and craftsmen built a one-off car that celebrates England’s love with the great game.

The car’s exterior color scheme of English White pays homage to the white rugby shirt worn at Rugby School, a tradition continued today by the England rugby team.

Another distinctive feature of English rugby since 1871 is the red rose, found both inside and on the bodywork. The Wraith’s signature shoulder-line is highlighted by a hand-applied coachline in deep green, featuring an English rose motif in red. 21-inch five twin-spoke alloy wheels complete the Wraith’s muscular exterior look.

The red rose motif is also found in the cabin, embroidered on each headrest. Hotspur Red continues the theme onto the dashboard accent panel, seat and door piping, while Piano Black veneer can be found on the dashboard and the center panel – with the latter featuring an inlaid English rose. The main interior color is Seashell contrasted with Navy Blue.

Gilbert, the famous manufacturer of rugby balls, has produced a limited number of rugby balls to match the unique Wraith. Each ball was created using the same Seashell and Hotspur Red leather and has been embroidered by Rolls-Royce craftspeople with the red rose on one panel and the Rolls-Royce motif on the other.
