Lexus has released full details and a new photo gallery with the latest addition to its “F” performance lineup, the GS F sedan.

Powered by a high-revving naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine producing 467hp (477PS in Europe), the 2016 GS F performance sedan promises “excellent handling” capabilities, developed on the most demanding race circuits, including the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

With a 7,300-rpm redline, the V8 engine delivers 467hp and 389lb-ft (527Nm) of torque and can run both in the Atkinson cycle to enhance fuel efficiency at cruising speeds and in the Otto cycle for higher performance levels when accelerating. The engine is mated to an 8-speed Sport Direct Shift (SPDS) automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

The 2016 Lexus GS F’s Drive Mode Select offers four driving modes: Normal, Eco, Sport S and Sport S+. The car is also equipped with the Torque Vectoring Differential (TVD), which improves handling and performance in all conditions by precisely controlling rear wheel torque, helping to manage the vehicle’s orientation when cornering.

The TVD offers three settings: Standard, Slalom (places additional emphasis on steering response) and Track (provides added handling when driving at higher speed). Unfortunately, Lexus is still keeping performance specs secret.

In terms of safety, the 2016 Lexus GS F comes equipped with the Lexus Safety System + as standard, which helps mitigate collisions across a wide range of vehicle speeds and conditions. The package integrates active safety technologies including Pre-Collision System (PCS), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Automatic High Beam (AHB) and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC).
