Kia has published the first teaser images of the new Cadenza near-luxury sedan that will be launched in the US next year as a 2017 model.

The official renderings show that the front fascia is more aggressive and incorporates a big side air intakes along with a new iteration of Kia’s now signature “tiger-nose” grille.

The headlights have a more angular shape, while the longer hood, rakish windscreen and sloping roofline give the car a sportier, four-door sedan-like look that is emphasized by the broad shoulders at the rear.

Kia says that the cabin of the new Cadenza was restyled and features higher-quality materials, a new premium design and more space than before.

Under the hood, the new saloon is expected to carryover the 3.3-liter V6 engine with some updates and an 8-speed automatic transmission. A four-cylinder hybrid version is reportedly also on the cards, but it hasn’t been officially confirmed.
