Seeing a classic Formula One car being driven anywhere other than on a racetrack virtually never happens, except for promotional events which Red Bull Racing is famous for doing. Even still, they have absolutely nothing on this video.
Shot in the mountain roads of Japan, the clip includes a Benetton Formula One car and a slightly older black and gold Lotus racer with an iconic John Player Livery going toe-to-toe on some gorgeous roads.
While the clip itself doesn’t show the duo being driven to their absolute limits, the cinematography alone is something very special. Making the clip even more amazing are the appearances of a number of other Japanese racing cars, most notably local Toyota GT86 and Nissan GT-R drift cars, seen powersliding along the amazing roads.
If you didn’t already want to visit Japan, then this video should convince you to put it right at the top of your bucket list.
