Pushing out 1,250 PS thanks to its two turbochargers and looking like something out of every man’s childhood sci-fi fantasy, the Mansory Carbonado Apertos is much more than just a modified Aventador Roadster.

Overall, we’ve got the same recipe that we’ve seen on the regular Carbonado. There is carbon everywhere, and all the exterior mods have a practical purpose, like the new front spoiler which helps cool the engine down more than the standard kit.

There’s also improved downforce thanks to the specially designed front lip, while the side skirts and the larger wheel arches will let any onlooker know that this is a Mansory product, and not just any tuned Lamborghini.

Compared to the regular Carbonado, the Apertos is obviously a more visually aggressive car, as is the Aventador Roadster compared to the original LP700-4. You can definitely make the case for this being the best looking tuned Lamborghini Aventador in the world, which is what we tried to do back in May, though most of our readers preferred the Novitec Torado.

Now, the Carbonado Apertos can take on the Torado fair and square, considering how the Novitec product is also a Roadster.

Despite not being new, the wheel design is just as spectacular. They measure 20×9 at the front and 21×13 at the rear and are matched up with Pirelli P ZERO tires, naturally.

Inside, the Carbonado Apertos is a bit of an acquired taste. Despite the numerous carbon fittings and the gorgeous leather, some might take issue with the steering wheel, mostly because of all that yellow staring you in the face, and because this is a 1,250 PS car and that thing doesn’t look like it offers a whole lot of grip – then again, how would we know?

In terms of performance, the Apertos is just as quick as the conventional Carbonado, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.6 seconds, before reaching its top speed of 380 km/h (236 mph) which puts it smack down in the middle of hypercar territory.

In order to achieve this performance, Mansory rebuilt the engine and replaced the pistons, connecting rods, rod bearings, crankshaft, cranks and the entire cylinder head with motorsport components. Then came the two turbochargers, of course, plus a completely new custom exhaust system.

So which is it; then Carbonado Apertos or are you still rolling with the Novitec Torado as your ultimate Lamborghini Aventador?
