Based on the new Spacetourer van, Citroen’s new Hyphen design study at the Geneva motor show is the result of a partnership between the French manufacturer and a local pop group called “Hyphen Hyphen”.

The bold-looking concept adopts a fading two-tone paint scheme on top of the rugged-looking exterior that embraces some of the cues from the firm’s Aircross studies. Setting it apart even more over the standard van are the increased ground clearance, plastic cladding and 19-inch diamond-cut wheels.

Climb on board and you will be welcomed by a combination of colors that include aqua, orange and white, added to just about every surface, from the roof, dashboard to the seats and door panels, complemented by Nappa leather, thick wool floor mats and glass sunroof.

Power comes from Citroen’s familiar BlueHDi 150 turbodiesel four-banger, connected to a six-speed manual transmission and an on-demand four-wheel drive system. The van benefits from start/stop technology too, for improved fuel consumption and reduced CO2 emissions.

Joining the Hyphen on the showroom’s floor are the SpaceTourer, Toyota Proace and Peugeot Traveller.
