G-Power Typhoon Is Not At All Subtle About Its 750PS Power Output

Just like a real typhoon, G-Power’s upgraded BMW X6 M is a force to be reckoned with.

Sporting a distinctive, muscle-flexing, wide-body kit that announces the sheer grunt under the hood, the Typhoon’s suit underwent a thorough development process that stretched for 12 months. The draft CAD was modeled in 1:1 and after the engineering prototyping was completed, the pre-production vehicle underwent thousands of kilometers in the real world.

The extent of the add-on can be seen on the vehicle’s wheel arches, which now widen the X6 by several centimeters. The larger air vents in the front deliver 20% more ram air to the uprated coolers, while the spoiler reduces lift on the front axle working together with the carbon-fiber Venturi hood in order to create a dynamic venting system which increases under bonnet cooling.

While the side skirts tie the wider front and wheel arches, the large underbody diffuser now houses a pair of twin 102 mm titanium sport exhaust system. The big wheel arches are filled to the brim by the 23-inch diameter Hurricane RR forged alloys, wrapped in 315/25ZR23 rubber.

All these modifications were made so that the car could cope with the 750PS (740 HP) and 980 Nm (723 ft-lb) of torque extracted from the 4.4-litre, twin-turbocharged V8. In order to achieve this impressive output, G-Power modified the standard compressor wheel of the two turbocharges, added a flow optimized sports exhaust system and employed the Bi-Tronik 2 V3 ECU remap, which adapts the fuel, air, spark and boost pressure to make use of the greater flow capability of the revised turbochargers.

The result is a ~2,358 Kg (5202 lb) vehicle with a top speed of 300 Km/h (186 mph) that covers the quarter mile in just 11.5 seconds – way faster than its predecessor.
