Just imagine handing your prized Porsche Panamera over to a hotel valet only to discover that the following day, it was gone, given to a total stranger.

Well over 12 months ago, that nightmare became a reality for Carlo DiMarco when he checked into the DoubleTree by Hilton in Houston, Texas.

Despite paying to have his car parked by the hotel’s valet service and returned to him the following morning, the keys to the 2014 Panamera worth $125,000 were instead given to a total stranger who claimed to have left his hotel card in his room. The car has never been seen since says NY Daily News.

To try and receive compensation for his lost Porsche, DiMarco has filed a lawsuit against Hilton Worldwide, property management company Kokua Hotel, franchise owner HDH Tenant and the independent valet contractor, Enterprise Parking Services.

Hilton says that it isn’t responsible for providing any compensation as the car wasn’t parked with the hotel and instead with the valet service. Even the valet service is refusing to pay however, as its insurance policy apparently doesn’t cover theft.
