Apparently, being known as “The Pink Guy” to your friends and colleagues makes it easier to dip your brand new Tesla Model X P90D in Bubblegum Pink.

This is Verity, and according to one Tesla fan, Verity has been a long time coming. The owner even spent the better part of the year researching color options and trying to figure out the most cost-effective way of changing the car’s color.

He eventually decided against painting it the old fashioned way and even refused to be “one of those guys” that get their cars wrapped. No, what he went with in the end is a “rubberized spray-on pseudo-paint” to go with a set of matte black aftermarket wheels.

You can find out more about the whole process here on the Tesla Motors Club Forum, but the gist of it is pretty straight forward. Man wanted a pink all-electric SUV, and eventually he got what he wished for.

Of course it wasn’t all smooth sailing, as there were a few “snafus” with the bank and during the colorway-choosing process, the owner was rightfully worried about the car looking horrible as he was already pondering its resale value.

Let us know what you think about the Bubblegum Pink and whether you feel it works with the matte black wheels.
