When it comes to older Porsche 911 Turbos, few tuners have gotten more out of them than Gemballa with their Avalanche GTR 600 customization.

Based on the 997 Turbo, the Avalanche GTR 600 featured a modified chassis, custom front bonnet and rear spoiler, the Avalanche front skirt, a GTR EVO rear skirt and a GT2 EVO carbon front spoiler lip.

Furthermore, modified side intakes, large air intakes and the fixed rear spoiler complete the body-work modifications, on a car that was able to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 4 seconds – which was a pretty big achievement back in the day.

While the GTR 600 wasn’t quite the most powerful 997-based Avalanche, it stood tall over the original model from 1984, itself one of the fastest automobiles of its time, capable of speeds upwards of 300 km/h (186 mph).

Inside, the GTR 600 features a lot of Alcantara and carbon fiber, where the latter can be found pretty much all over, from the steering wheel to the air vents, all the way to the center console or the doors.

All in all, huge props to Gemballa for taking us back in time with these images, as pure driver’s cars such as these are worth remembering from time to time.
