Tooned started back in 2012 as an animated series about McLaren’s past, present, and future, starring its contemporary drivers, as well as legends from its past.

Now, after announcing that Tooned would be making a return, the British car company released the latest episode. It’s a continuation of McLaren’s legends series, marking the 40th anniversary of James Hunt’s 1976 Championship win.

To be fair, the animated uses a lot of footage from the “The James Hunt Story” featured in Season 2 of Tooned, but McLaren says it’s an update. In any case, it tells a fictional story about Hunt being a secret agent, and it’s packed full of inside jokes from the golden days of Formula 1, and a few innuendos.

From the “eggs, breakfast of champions” gag, to a voice actor imitating Murray Walker, it’s all there – and then some. There’s even a supervillain, Lautfinger, involved, who we believe parodies Niki Lauda; but we’ll let you discover all the jokes in the video down below.
