Maserati’s Quattroporte GranSport Stars In Official Trailer

At September’s Paris Auto Show, Maserati unveiled the facelifted Quattroporte and, with it, a new GranSport package.

As the name suggests, the GranSport adds some aggressive new parts and is now the star of a new promo.

Appropriately, the 44-second commercial focuses on the sporty prowess of the model with it filmed speeding through tight mountainous roads all while carrying its occupants in exceptional luxury and comfort.

Compared to other Quattroporte models, the GranSport is differentiated thanks to its 20-inch alloy wheels, red brake calipers, bolder front and rear bumper vents and blue emblems. The cabin then includes a sports steering wheel, stainless steel pedals, aluminium shift paddles and sports seats.

The GranSport package can be optioned with the model’s 404 hp 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 in rear- or all-wheel drive configurations or with the 523 hp 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 of the Quattroporte GTS.

I so love this car, I wish i could afford one. especially with the newly added tweaks for the 17 model. in my opinion the one detail that lacks are the rear lights. they look sort of like the rear lights on the car my wife drives, a 2014 sentra.

this car needs unique rear lights badly. i got comparison pictures today to show, how can i attached/upload here?

You could probably actually afford one – it’s basically the present Chrysler 300 under the skin but the lazy Italians built in different engine and adjustable shocks and the rest is mostly interchangeable… for real believe me!

      • CitizenKane

I’m sure you have a degree in mechanical engineering to prove that, and followed step by step the development of this car. Probably you’re not even able to discern a piston from a cylinder…for real believe me!

You don’t have to be a brain or have any kind of engineering degree, even mean to other to see it on Your own eyes, just be smart and believe what You see compared to the other one vehicle… I’ve the oportunisty to work on one of this and was pretty astonished how many identical parts underneath they are used from the present Chrysler 300 which in matter of fact recycled some older MB underbody parts! But the Chrysler 300/Dodge Charger cost only a part of this Italian self-called exotic, but not much of exotic underneath the skin beside a cool sounding engine…actually exhaust! The same thing is with the Ghibli…but You’re probably still skeptical if only based on the theory…

      • Higgins Wisepiggy

Apparently the 488 GTB is just a rebodied Viper… Lazy Italians at it again…

I’m still struggling to understand the purpose of the GrandSport trim. I was expecting something more tight and sporty, but it really adds nothing but cosmetic stuff to the current QP – it’s just as floaty and comfort oriented.
