Leaked Hyundai i30 N Specs Reveal 271 HP GTI-Fighter

Some key technical specifications about the upcoming Hyundai i30 N hot hatch have leaked online after a presentation in South Korea, reports Motoring.

Perhaps the most intriguing titbit of information to emerge is that the i30 N’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine will be available in 250 PS (246 hp) and 275 PS (271 hp) guises each mated to a six-speed manual transmission with active rev-matching as standard. An eight-speed dual-clutch ‘box will also be available.

Other important upgrades to the i30 N will include the installation of adjustable dampers at all four corners, a dual-stage stability control system and a mode dedicated for the track and a number of different driving modes for the engine. They’ll also be a limited-slip differential to ensure the front wheels maintain optimum traction while cornering.

A number of interior components will also differentiate the N model from lesser i30 variants. These will include a new three-spoke steering wheel, modified seats, a new gear knob and bespoke gauge cluster. They’ll also be modified front and rear bumpers, different wheel designs to choose from and an aggressive rear diffuser.

The Hyundai i30 N is expected to hit the production line in December.

Wtf? Are they using the last gen i30?

i’ll take the 271HP over the more responsive 246HP
the smaller 246HP turbo will break traction too easily

the 271HP version won’t lag in the small i30N
like it did in the 2011-2013 Sonata 2.0T

The mechanical spec sheet reads well and everything seems to be there except…why the hell is it so bland and cheap looking? So little special about the exterior thats its almost offensive.

This is likely just a test mule. They’re launching an all-new car this year to replace that one, so it seems likely the i30 N will actually be sporting the new body with design queues from the RN30 concept.

Hyundai is doing road testing of the fastback version of the i30 which seems to have a substantially different front end that just looks sharper than the front-end of the new i30 hatch.

Hopefully, we get the fastback version as well and that it gets the N-treatment.

Since the 8 DCT is mentioned it might make it to the US, but they seemed to talk more about a sedan version for the states. The smart move would be just to drop this combo in the Tucson and rake in the profits.

Nice. It’ll be up against some stiff competition!

Is this coming to the states? Nice if so.
