As Porsche prepares to launch its all-electric Mission E sedan in 2019, the German marque has installed a number of 350 kW chargers at a dealership in Berlin.

Developed by Porsche Engineering, the chargers feature a Huber-Suhner liquid-cooled charging cable and offer fast-charging abilities, allowing the Mission E’s battery pack to be charged up to 80 per cent in just 15 minutes. Additionally, they will be able to charge lower-powered EVs and provide a glimpse at the company’s electrified future.

While we eagerly await the arrival of the Mission E, Porsche already has both the Cayenne S E-Hybrid and Panamera 4 E-Hybrid in its range and while the duo only use small battery packs and low-powered electric motors, neither sacrifice performance over their petrol-powered counterparts. As a matter of fact, the range-topping Panamera Turbo S e-Hybrid is the most potent variant in the second-gen Panamera range, delivering 671 hp.

At this stage, it is thought that the Mission E will have the same 800-volt drive system as the concept and arrive at dealerships with two electric motors and a large battery. Initial variants are expected to deliver around 592 hp, allowing the electric sedan to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in a brisk 3.5 seconds.

Porsche is currently constructing a similar set of chargers in Atlanta.
