Panoz doesn’t hit the headlines very often, so one would be excused for thinking the company had gone out of business many years ago.

However, that’s not the case, and the automaker continues to produce a selection of models. And now, all of them come with self-healing paint.

No, this isn’t simply a marketing scheme to drum up interest in the brand. The company has actually partnered with Feynlab to use the company’s Self-Heal Plus coating on all of its paint jobs. What makes this coating special is that it is made from memory polymer and can reform to its original configuration after being scratched.

Autoblog reports that light scratches and swirl marks simply disappear when the paint is left in the sun or a hair dryer is briefly used over the body.

The most accessible model from the Panoz family is the Esperante Spyder, priced from $159,000. Back in 2014, it was revealed in 25th Anniversary Edition guise for $181,320. Both this special edition and the standard Esperante Spyder use carbon fiber and aluminum for the body, a modular extruded aluminum chassis, fully independent front and rear suspension, and a sizeable braking system.

As Panoz looks to provide customers with unique creations, a number of V8 powertrain packages are available, with power ranging from 430 to 800 hp.
