Since everyone is turning to SUVs, the future of the the R8 is still undecided. After scrolling through the gallery below, we suspect you might be tempted to race to a local Audi dealer and buy one before the company’s mid-engined, V10-powered supercar is no more.

Ingolstadt first commenced production of the R8 back in 2006, with the first-gen living on until 2015.

It was then drastically overhauled for its second generation, using the same Modular Sports System platform as the Lamborghini Huracan. Powertrain offerings have been altered throughout the car’s history but one thing has remained constant: its 5.2-liter naturally-aspirated V10, like the one powering this particular example worked on by Brixton Forged.

The R8’s engine pumps out 533 HP at 8250 rpm and 398 lb-ft (540 Nm) of torque at 6500 rpm, but the popular V10 Plus ups the ante to 602 HP and 413 lb-ft (560 Nm). With its towering rear wing, the V10 Plus has a more striking appearance and won’t let you mistake for the, ahem, “base” model.

This particular V10 Plus is painted in a dark shade of grey and rolls on a set of custom Brixton Forged wheels measuring 20×9 inches at the front and 21×12.5 at the rear with a polished Olympic bronze finish. Owners of dark-colored cars often choose to outfit their vehicles with black aftermarket wheels, but bronze and gold wheels can, if done right, provide the perfect amount of contrast to more restrained paint options like this dark grey.
