The all-new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class will bow to the world today, with the live presentation scheduled to kick off at 8:00 a.m. ET (that’s 2 p.m. CET).

Expected to enter series production within the next few weeks, with first customer deliveries likely commencing early next year, the flagship sedan will be a longer, more luxurious take on the new-gen Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

The characteristically-Maybach two-tone paintjob, a unique grille and bumpers, Maybach badges, including the ones on the rear pillars, a redesigned glasshouse and bespoke wheels will set it apart on the outside, whereas the interior will be even posher than that of the regular S-Class, if you can imagine that.

Among the extra gear found inside, the automaker has said that it will include seat heating for the neck and shoulders at the rear and a massage function in the calf rests. Expect to see a raft of other comfort and tech features such as a rear-seat entertainment system, possibly with two displays, electrically-operated curtains, separate climate controls and a fridge to keep the beverages cool.

The luxo-barge will also have a 7-inch (18-cm) longer wheelbase compared to the S-Class, as Mercedes-Maybach has already confirmed, which will open more legroom for rear passengers.

Like the outgoing model, the all-new Maybach S-Class is expected to arrive with several powertrain options. According to reports, it might be the sole Mercedes model to continue offering a V12 engine, getting around 620 HP, though this has yet to be confirmed. If twelve cylinders are too much for some customers, then they will be able to get a smaller V8, with and without electrification.
