The 2021 Karma GS-6 has gone into production and the company is celebrating the milestone with three special editions that pay homage to the state of California.

The first is called the California Riviera and it features a unique Riviera Blue exterior. The sedan has also been equipped with 22-inch forged alloy wheels that feature a Metallic Lunar Grey finish as well as Riviera Blue brake calipers. The special edition also sports a Blackout package which includes black badging, black door handles and black window trim.

Inside, drivers will find Ventura Grey upholstery with blue and brown accents. The model also comes with custom forged carbon fiber trim.

The GS-6 LA Sun goes in a slightly different direction as it has a Hollywood White exterior, which contrasts with the Blackout package. Elsewhere, there are 22-inch chrome wheels and Burnt Orange brake calipers. Rounding out the highlights are a Pebble Beach Grey interior with brown accents as well as open pore red elm wood trim.

The third and final special edition is known as the Yosemite Grove. It has a custom Yosemite Green exterior with the Blackout package as well as high gloss black HRE wheels and yellow calipers. Moving into the cabin, there’s Imperial Dune upholstery with dark brown accents as well as open pore lace oak trim.

Putting styling aside, the special editions have upgraded motors with a “higher copper content” to increase their amperage. The company says this lowers the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) time to less than four seconds while also increasing the top speed to an electronically-limited 135 mph (217 km/h). Other performance features include torque vectoring as well as Launch and Track modes.

The special editions are available at select dealers, but there’s no word on pricing.  However, the standard GS-6 starts at $83,900 and features a range-extended powertrain that consists of a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine, a 28 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, and two rear-mounted electric motors that produce a combined output of up to 536 hp (400 kW / 543 PS) and 550 lb-ft (746 Nm) of torque.  This enables the model to travel 80 miles (129 km) on electricity alone and up to 360 miles (579 km) overall.
