Automakers’ CEO Compensation Rose Nearly 80% In 2021

CEOs of some of the world’s top automakers have been raking it in last year. That’s according to a study commissioned by Automotive News, which ranks Elon Musk as the highest-paid chief executive, making $23.5 billion. He wasn’t the only one, as CEO compensation rose by 78 percent in 2021. Mary Barra was the third-highest paid automaker CEO on the list, earning $62 million in 2021, and Peter Rawlinson of Lucid made $67 million.


Aston Martin DBR22 Concept By Q Is A Wild Open-Cockpit Thrill Machine

Created by Q by Aston Martin, the DBR22 is a concept designed to showcase the abilities of the sportscar maker’s in-house customization department. The concept pays tribute to the 1952 DB3S and the DBR1, which won Le Mans in 1959 with Carroll Shelby and Roy Salvadori behind the wheel. Power comes from a 5.2-liter, twin-turbo V12 with 705 hp (526 kW/715 PS) and 555 lb-ft (753 Nm) of torque. For now, it’s just a concept, but those attending the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance will be able to see the DBR22 in person.

The Mercedes EQE SUV will be next in line for Mercedes’ expansive MBUX Hypercscreen. Looking similar to what’s found in the EQE Sedan, the luxury automaker revealed just how the interior of their new EV would look ahead of the car’s world premiere on October 16.


710 HP Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat Returns For 2023

The Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat was first introduced for the 2021 model year but was curiously dropped after just one year of production. But thanks to strong demand, the V8 SUV with the insane 710 hp and 645 lb-ft of torque is making a comeback for 2023. Orders for the 2023 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat will open in September 2022, and the first dealer deliveries are penciled in for early 2023.


Mahindra Previews 5 New Electric SUVs From XUV And BE Brands Using VW Group’s Tech

Indian SUV and truck manufacturer Mahindra is getting ready to embrace an EV-filled future, previewing five new electric concepts that use components from VW. The renderings are based on Mahindra’s new EV skateboard architecture, called Inglo, and it uses components from Volkswagen’s MEB platform, including the electric drivetrain, the battery system, and the battery cells.


Bugatti Teases A New “Icon” For Monterey Car Week, Debuts August 19th

Bugatti has teased its upcoming special for the Monterey Car Week. There’s not a whole lot to go on, but we do get to see a single headlight, which doesn’t resemble that of what’s found on the Chiron, with four rows of horizontal LEDs. It’s likely that the car will be a new one-off, concept, or special limited edition, but we’ll find out more later this week.


Someone Casually Drove A Non-Street Legal Dallara GP2 Racer On Public Roads

A mystery driver has been captured driving a Dallara-built GP2 car on a public highway in the Czech Republic. The vehicle, likely made between 2008 and 2010, featured a Ferrari livery and a Renault V8, making it look and sound just like an F1 car. It isn’t the first time the car has been spotted either, with it taking to the streets back in 2019. However, it appears the driver was never identified after the police issued an appeal.

Alfa Romeo F1 driver and 10-time F1 race winner Valtteri Bottas hasn’t taken the summer break lightly and instead chose to go and win a cycle race. He finished first in his age category in the 60-mile SBT GRVL Red race competition in Steamboat Springs, USA, and fourth overall. His partner Tiffany Cromwell won the women’s race around the 100-mile blue course.
