Move Over Tesla Drivers, GM Owners Are Most Likely To Overestimate The Capabilities Of Their Partially Autonomous Cars

While Tesla has received a lot of heat for the naming strategy of its Autopilot and Full Self Driving modes in the past, it seems that GM owners may be more at risk when it comes to overestimating the abilities of their semi-autonomous tech. According to a study from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), 53 percent of Super Cruise users, compared to 42 percent of Autopilot users and 12 percent of ProPILOT users, said they were comfortable treating their vehicles as if they were fully autonomous.

2024 Mercedes EQE SUV Offers A Range Of 370 Miles And Tech For Days

Say hello to the 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV — a more practical version of the EQE Sedan. The new electric SUV features either rear- or all-wheel drive, a 90.6 kWh battery, and up to 370 miles (590 km) of range. However, it’s not as “SUV-like” as you may have imagined. For example, the EQE SUV is actually shorter than the related sedan and has less trunk space than the ICE-powered GLE. In fact, it has roughly the same trunk space as the EQC, which — although on a different platform and based on the combustion GLC — is a rung below it in Merc’s electric hierarchy.

2024 Mercedes-AMG EQE SUV Delivers Up To 687 HP At The Expense Of Range

Revealed alongside the regular version is the hotter Mercedes-AMG EQE SUV, which comes in two flavors: 43 and 53 guises. The 53 is where the main changes lie, with bespoke AMG motors outputting 687 hp and up to 1000 Nm of torque for a 0–62 mph (0–100 km/h) time of 3.5 seconds. Both the 43 and 53 feature styling changes, bigger brakes, standard all-wheel drive, and standard rear-wheel steering.

What’s The Best Black Edition Model Ever?

We’re asking you what the best black edition of a car ever made is. When it comes to Black (or “Midnight” or “Blackline”) Editions, some manufacturers go all-out giving their cars more power, while many are content with just offering black color schemes. Many manufacturers now choose not to have the car’s paintwork black and use the package to darken the wheels and chrome brightwork. So who does it best?

Hybrid 2024 BMW M5 Shows Production Body And Lighting, Looks Refreshingly Reserved

The 2024 BMW M5 is going hybrid, which is undoubtedly going to be a significant shift for the model. Thankfully, as revealed by our latest spy shots, it looks like the external appearance of the new performance sedan won’t be too “out there.” The 2024 M5 captured here looks like it will keep the class of its predecessors and retain a decent amount of aggressiveness too. The expected powertrain of choice will be a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 paired with an electric motor, not unlike the setup found in the XM Label Red.

Engine Parts Suppliers Facing Uncertain Future With Switchover To EVs

European engine part manufacturers are worried that the rapid switch to EV tech may leave them behind. The problems are multifaceted, with EVs not yet at their full sales potential and heavy investment required to make EV-specific parts. This could lead to more job losses, such as experienced by Stellantis when switching over its engine plant in Tremery, France, to EV motor manufacture, downsizing by 600 employees.

Can We Fix The New 2023 BMW M2 With A Bumper That Doesn’t Look Inspired By A Dumbbell?

The new BMW M2 has come under a lot of flack thanks to its rather controversial styling. This time the grilles themselves seem to be less of a concern, whereas the bumper, and its blocky intakes, have taken the brunt of the criticism. So we decided to give it a bit of a redesign, grafting on the bumper from the BMW Z4. Is it an improvement, or was BMW right the first time?
