The all-electric Fiat 500e is quite a compelling little electric vehicle for those that live in large cities and are looking for something to make short and moderate trips in. As it turns out, it can also double as a tiny garbage truck.

Yes, we know that sounds strange but we recently came across this photo that shows a Fiat 500e something in the Netherlands and sporting a large garbage bin at the rear.

Unfortunately, we only have a single image of the car and very little context to go with it. For one, it is unclear if the lid on the bin is actually functional or if the bin is fake and has actually just been placed there to perhaps promote a waste disposal company.

It’s also unclear who or what company was actually responsible for installing the bin but it looks to have been customized just for the Fiat and even has rubber seals along the edges to keep it watertight.

It goes without saying that the car’s aerodynamics will have been negatively affected by the bin and that as a result, its range has likely also been reduced. That’s not ideal for a vehicle like the 500e because entry-level models with the 24 kWh battery can only travel 115 miles (185 km) on a charge. Fiat does also sell the 500e with a larger 42 kWh battery that sees its range hiked to as much as 199 miles (320 km).
