Ayrton Senna died thirty years ago, but his legend continues to grow. The latest tribute comes from Ducati, which has introduced a special edition Monster that honors the F1 driver.

Bound to draw attention, the bike has a colorful livery that takes inspiration from Senna’s helmet. As a result, the model mimics the Brazilian flag and features an eye-catching mix of yellow, green, and blue.

The upgrades don’t end there as the Monster has been equipped with carbon fiber silencers, billet aluminum footrests, and special forged aluminum wheels. They’re joined by a blue seat, a unique plaque, and a custom startup animation for the 4.3-inch display.

The bike has also been outfitted with a lithium-ion battery and carbon fiber mudguards. These upgrades likely explain why the Senna weighs 10 lbs (4.5 kg) less than the standard model.

Power comes from a familiar Testastretta two-cylinder engine that produces 110 hp (82 kW / 111 PS). Buyers will also find a fully adjustable Öhlins suspension and a Brembo braking system with yellow calipers.

Production is limited to 341 units and that number pays tribute to Senna’s 3 World Titles and 41 first place finishes. Pricing starts at $25,000 and buyers will receive a certificate of authenticity as well as a motorcycle cover.

Ducati and Senna have a long history together as Claudio Castiglioni, who then owned the company, gave the racing driver an 851 SP in 1990. Ayrton was also one of the first Monster 900 owners and he used it to arrive at a gala for the 1993 Monaco Grand Prix.

The two took their relationship even further when they joined forces for the Ducati 916 Senna. It was announced a few months before his death and featured an anthracite grey, matte black, and red exterior.
