If you follow motorsport even casually, there’s a good chance the name JAS Motorsport has crossed your radar. The Italian outfit has spent the past 27 years as Honda’s official racing partner, fielding cars in a variety of series including the TCR championship.

Now, JAS is venturing into the world of high-performance road cars, and it’s partnered with arguably the most famous design firm of them all to make it happen: Pininfarina.

Very few details have been provided about what JAS has up its sleeve. What we do know is that the two companies will, in their own words, “reimagine one of the most iconic sports cars of the past and offer it to the world of car enthusiasts and collectors.” Evidently, this won’t be an all-new vehicle designed and developed from the ground up.

JAS added that the sports car will be “respectful of its origins and its distinctive appearances but with modern styling cues.” A single teaser image has been provided of the car, but it doesn’t reveal much. All we can see are a set of sporty-looking wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires and sitting over a set of red brake calipers.

The car appears to sport flowing front quarter panels and has large air vents directly behind the front wheels. This teaser also shows the wing mirror is affixed to the main door skin and that at least one sharp crease will run the length of the car’s sides. Given Pininfarina‘s record is in crafting beautiful cars, it seems highly unlikely that it’ll mess things up with this project.

The racing team is promising to build its sports car in limited numbers at its headquarters in Arluno, Milan. Additional details will be shared ahead of the full unveiling, which is currently scheduled for the first half of 2026.
