- Rivian now sells a handcrafted wooden model vehicle set.
- Kit includes R1T, R1S, and RCV replicas with a shared base.
- Tesla also sells similar wooden models of the Cybertruck.
No carmaker has leaned into quirky merchandise quite like Tesla. From karaoke mics and salt-and-pepper shakers to backpacks and $300 bottles of Mezcal, its online store has always walked a line between promotional and peculiar. It seems Rivian has been taking notes, rolling out its own growing lineup of accessories with a similar tilt toward lifestyle appeal.
The latest is a $150 wooden vehicle set, perfect for kids or adults looking for a new ornament to put on their desks. Apparently handcrafted, the set includes a solid wooden skateboard-style base that can support replica bodies of the R1T, R1S, and the RCV, Rivian’s all-electric commercial vehicle.

Each package costs $150 and includes the skateboard base, both the R1T and R1S bodies painted in red and blue, and the RCV body with a removable windshield. Separate tops for the R1S and R1T are also included. All components can be easily connected with high-powered magnets.
To eliminate any potential for kids to swallow these magnets, they’ve been incorporated into the wooden parts, so they can’t be pulled out and played with. Most of the parts are made from Birch wood, although the RCV does include some cheaper MDF wooden parts.
While the kit is pricey, it’s certainly cute. However, it’s not entirely original. As it turns out, Tesla sells a very similar wooden playset at its store, and it costs just $60. Tesla’s kit includes a wooden model of the Semi and a replica of the Cybertruck. Admittedly, its models are smaller than Rivian’s and lack the magnets, but they are quite similar.
That said, there’s one key difference. Rivian’s version is available now, potentially just in time for holiday gift-giving. Tesla’s set, on the other hand, is currently sold out.
