The hugely popular Kia Telluride has just entered its second generation, bringing with it a fresh design, a different interior, and new engine options. Along with the upgrades, though, comes a higher price tag. Buyers will now need to shell out more than $40,000 when you include destination just to get into the base model.

Whereas the previous entry-level Telluride LX started at $36,390 before destination, the 2027 Telluride LX starts at $39,100, plus a $1,545 destination charge. It’s not a small bump, but keep in mind that this is a full redesign, not just a facelift.

In case variety was ever in question, Kia has answered it with enthusiasm. The 2027 Telluride is now offered in no fewer than eleven trim levels, which is… a lot. There’s likely a version for just about every type of buyer.

The familiar S FWD and S AWD models are still part of the Telluride lineup, now priced from $42,090 and $44,090 respectively. That’s up from the 2025 pricing of $39,390 and $41,390. The EX FWD and EX AWD trims also return, now starting at $43,790 and $45,790. Interestingly, these see a smaller increase compared to their outgoing counterparts, which began at $42,090 and $44,090.

Also sticking around is the X-Line EX AWD, starting at $47,290. Moving higher up the range, buyers can opt for the SX FWD at $48,790, the X-Line SX AWD at $51,790, or the X-Pro SX AWD at $53,690. The top end of the lineup includes the SXP AWD ($53,890), X-Line SXP ($54,890), and the fully loaded X-Pro SXP AWD at $56,790.

Gone is the naturally aspirated V6 that defined the previous model. In its place, Kia now offers a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 274 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque (421 Nm). Although this is a drop in horsepower from the old 291-hp V6, torque is up by a useful 49 lb-ft (66 Nm), which should translate to better responsiveness in everyday driving.

Those looking for more power or better efficiency might want to wait for the upcoming Telluride HEV. This hybrid version will combine the same 2.5-liter turbocharged engine with electric motors and a 1.65 kWh lithium-ion battery. The result is a total output of 329 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque (460 Nm), offering a noticeable step up in performance.

Kia also offers a range of dealer-installed and factory options for those looking to customize. Among the add-ons are a $625 towing package, $255 all-season floor liners, $395 cross bars, $799 black side steps, and a $390 auto-dimming mirror.
