• Jeep has introduced the new Gladiator Whitecap.
  • It features a white hardtop, stripe, and grille surround.
  • Package costs $495 and will be offered in “limited quantities.”

Last year, Jeep introduced the retro-inspired Wrangler Whitecap. They’re now following up with a Gladiator variant, which is the second special edition as part of their Convoy campaign.

Essentially a two-tone styling package, the Whitecap is distinguished by a Bright White hardtop and a matching Bright White grille surround. They’re joined by white body stripes with “1941” badging.

The special edition package is available on the Sahara, Rubicon, Rubicon X, Mojave, and Mojave X. The latter four add a Bright White hood decal, noting which trim it is.

These are relatively minor changes, but the price tag reflects that as the package costs $495 on the Sahara, Rubicon X, and Mojave X. It’s also $495 on the Rubicon and Mojave, but users have to get body-color fender flares and a body‑color Freedom Top.

The former costs $495, while the latter will set you back $1,895. This means you’re looking at a combined total of $2,885 on the Rubicon and Mojave.

The Gladiator Whitecap will arrive at dealerships this spring and be available in “limited quantities.” Jeep’s website said the special edition will be offered in eight colors including Bright White, which kind of defeats the point.

Regardless, all models feature a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine that produces 285 hp (213 kW / 289 PS) and 260 lb-ft (353 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a standard four-wheel drive system. This setup enables the truck to return 19 mpg combined as well as tow up to 7,700 lbs (3,493 kg).

CEO Bob Broderdorf said the truck “offers a clear nod to Jeep heritage, rooted in 1941, and [is] built for today’s adventurers who value authenticity, individuality and real capability.”
