- This G-Wagen trades everyday practicality for style.
- Mansory will produce only eight examples of the SUV.
- Two doors make rear passenger access less convenient.
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class is an automotive icon so enduring that it managed record deliveries in 2025, its 49th year on sale. Nearly five decades in, the box on wheels is still printing money. Not bad for something that began life as a legitimate military tool and now spends its time outside five-star hotels.
And yet, for some buyers, a standard G-Class simply will not do. They want something rarer, louder, and just a shade less sensible. In this case, almost unlike anything else on the road.

This rather bizarre take on the G-Class, built by none other than Mansory, is called the Gronos Coupe EVO C and first appeared a few years ago. Just eight examples are being produced, each with its own distinctive configuration. Every one is wild, every one is striking, and each would likely have Karl Benz shifting uneasily in his grave.
The latest build looks engineered for a slow roll past valet stands in Dubai or a theatrical glide through central London in high summer. It pairs exposed forged carbon fiber with a deep brown paint finish, a combination that ensures you’ll never, ever pass by unnoticed.

Forged carbon spreads across the heavily revised front fascia, bringing with it a new bumper, reshaped air intakes, a prominent splitter, and a fresh grille. Mansory has also installed an extroverted carbon hood, plus blacked-out wheel arches that further exaggerate the stance. The brown paint covers much of the Mercedes‘ upper half, including the tailgate, roof, and side window frames.
Other bodywork changes include a large rear diffuser and a fixed roof spoiler. Mansory would probably like you to believe they improve aerodynamics, but in something shaped like a brick, that feels almost beside the point.
What buyers are really after is a suitably lavish cabin, and the Gronos Coupe EVO C delivers in spades. The seats, door panels, steering wheel, and dashboard have all been trimmed in soft new white leather, complete with black contrast stitching and piping. Forged carbon fiber is scattered throughout as well, just in case you forget who built it.
There is no mention of performance figures, but Mansory typically works its magic on the powertrain. It would not be surprising if output exceeded 900 horsepower.
No doubt the oddest part of this G is in its name. It’s a two-door Coupe, complete with suicide front doors. Why, you ask? Who knows. It obviously greatly reduces practicality and seems rather illogical. But, if you’re buying a Mansory product, you’re probably not thinking logically anyway.
