• Volkswagen has teased the interior of the 2027 Atlas.
  • It appears to have an 11.6-inch front passenger display.
  • Redesigned crossover debuts next month in New York.

The teaser campaign for the 2027 Atlas continues as Volkswagen has provided the first glimpse of the interior. It’s been “completely redesigned” and will have a more modern and premium appearance.

The company is keeping details under wraps, but the teaser image gives us our first look at the all-new dashboard. It appears to have a new front passenger display as well as a surround with wood trim at the base.

They’re joined by an ambient lighting system as well as illuminated door panels. We can also get a glimpse at a premium audio system with bright speaker grilles at the base of the A-pillar.

The New Volkswagen Atlas Is Getting A Screen It Never Had Before

Unsurprisingly, the cabin appears to be virtually identical to the Teramont Pro sold in China. The only difference we can see is a slightly different design on the door panels.

This means we can expect a high-tech interior with up to six screens. This includes a digital instrument cluster, a 15-inch infotainment system, and an 11.6-inch front passenger display. The Chinese crossover also sports augmented reality navigation and a 14-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system.

Technology aside, the aforementioned ambient lighting system will likely provide 30 different color options. We can also expect heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats as well as a heated second row. The Teramont Pro also offers a fragrance system, but we wouldn’t be surprised if that’s left on the cutting board.

Since we’ve already seen colorful teasers and lightly disguised prototypes, we’ll note the model will reportedly retain its 117.3-inch (2,980 mm) wheelbase and the same roof as the current crossover. Despite this, the 2027 Atlas will transition to the newer MQB Evo platform and be powered by a new EA888 evo5 engine. It produces up to 268 hp (200 kW / 272 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque in the Teramont Pro, while the Tiguan has the same horsepower rating but a lower torque output of 258 lb-ft (349 Nm).
