- Ferrari, Philips, and Med-Ex open a new diagnostics center in Maranello.
- The facility serves Ferrari employees and residents in nearby communities.
- Any surplus from the program will be reinvested in training and care.
Ferrari’s latest headlines have been about Formula 1 rear wings and their upcoming EV. Yet away from the racetrack and product plans, the company has been working on something far less expected. In Maranello, the Prancing Horse has partnered with Philips and Med-Ex to open a new medical diagnostics center serving both Ferrari employees and the surrounding community.
The move means that the most high-tech preventive care is now accessible. Operators Med-Ex are a long-term medical partner of Ferrari, while the actual diagnostic technology was provided by Philips. The focus is simplified and conveniently applicable to have access to early detection and specialist evaluation without having to spend a lot of time in line and commuting to bigger cities.
Prevention Is Better Than Cure
It is the first time a diagnostic center of this level has been created by a company outside the healthcare sector in collaboration with public institutions in Italy. Regional and local authorities worked closely with Ferrari to ensure that the project would strengthen the existing public health system rather than compete with it.

The venue is to conclude a three-year contract with the Modena Local Health Authority to offer mammography to the women residing in Maranello, Formigine, and Fiorano. The regional prevention program will carry out approximately 8,300 examinations, and reports will be provided by the specialists in the field of public health. The goal is to strengthen cancer screening campaigns and to make regular examinations more available locally.

The center is also seeking to be a hub of epidemiological studies which could be supported by the data analysis work of Med-Ex. Moreover, it will provide remote second-opinion services with highly accredited public health centers in Italy. It implies that patients can benefit themselves by being evaluated by experts regarding clinical documentation, without necessarily having to physically travel across hospitals.
Ferrari make it clear that profits aren’t even part of the conversation when it comes to giving back to the community. Any surplus associated with the practice will be redistributed into the medical and technical skills training, as well as the scholarships of young physicians and healthcare providers. It is planned to develop skills in the area and establish long-term value in the region.
A Suite Of Medical Equipment
From a technical point of view, the facility is equipped with high-level diagnostic facilities, including a Total Body MRI, Spectral CT, mammography with tomosynthesis, digital radiography and DEXA bone densitometry. AI-integrated software facilitates faster image processing and accuracy, helping doctors to make clearer conclusions in less time.
The center also improves the welfare programs already in place in Ferrari. By Formula Benessere, more than 4,000 employees will have been taken to the doctor at least once a year, and more than 1,000 children of employees will have consultations through Formula Benessere Junior. Ferrari employees can now easily access an even broader number of specialist services under one roof with the new structure now in operation.
