• Ram appears to be teasing a new high-performance, street truck.
  • Has an aggressive front fascia, a lowered suspension, and a sport bar.
  • Model could have a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 with around 777 hp.

When Ram introduced the 1500 SRT TRX at a media event last year, CEO Tim Kuniskis teased more performance variants could be on the horizon. As he told us, the 777 hp (579 kW / 788 PS) pickup “hints at something else coming down the line.”

We’re apparently getting our first look at it as the brand has released a new teaser video on social media. In the clip, featuring Rambassador Dana White of UFC fame, the company warns “Things are about to get loud.”

That rings true as the truck revs its engine and does smoky burnouts to Guns N’ Roses’ Welcome to the Jungle. While the smoke hides most details, the model has an aggressive front fascia with triangular intakes and a wide central opening.

Later in the clip, we can see a two-tone paint job, which is echoed by black wheels with yellow brake calipers. The truck has also been equipped with a sport bar and a sizable rear spoiler.

Needless to say, the mystery model is giving off some serious SRT-10 vibes. That’s great news as automakers have largely abandoned the sport truck segment to focus on off-road variants.

We’ll likely learn more soon, but the TRX gives us a pretty good idea of what to expect. As a refresher, the rugged pickup has a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine producing 777 hp (579 kW / 788 PS) and 680 lb-ft (921 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to an “uprated” eight-speed automatic transmission and a standard four-wheel drive system. This setup enables the pickup to rocket from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.5 seconds and onto a top speed of 118 mph (190 km/h).
