Nissan has launched a new model for its Venucia brand at the Guangzhou Auto Show, the T70 SUV.

Built by the Dongfeng Nissan Motor Passenger Vehicle Company (DFL-PV), the Venucia T70 is a compact SUV based on the Nissan C-platform that also underpins the first generation Nissan Qashqai and the second generation Nissan X-Trail.

The T70 will be available with two four-cylinder petrol engines, a 1.6-liter with 120hp and a 1.8-liter with 142hp. The smaller engine will be mated to a CVT, while the bigger unit will be offered with either a five-speed manual or a five-speed automatic.

The Venucia T70’s standard equipment includes a smartphone link application tailored for Chinese users, Around View Monitor (AVM) and speed sensing volume control. “Chinese consumers are looking for a reliable SUV with advanced technology. With T70, we have responded, delivering the best in technology, safety and quality,” said Yong Ren, DFL-PV deputy managing director.

Besides the Venucia T70, Nissan’s booth at the Guangzhou Auto Show also hosts the Chinese debut of the updated March and 370Z. Also featured is the Lannia Concept, a sedan designed for trend-setting “Post-80s” consumers in China.
