Pirelli has announced the launch of their new ‘Collezione’ tire range, specifically designed for classic and vintage models dating back to the 1950s.

The new Pirelli Collezione range is a combination of new technology with the period-correct look, allowing the best possible performance on the street or the track while still remaining true to the car’s original character.

Pirelli has added a brand new size in the Cinturato CA67 tire (175 R400 89H) this year as a tribute to the Lancia Flaminia’s 60th anniversary, which was fitted with this very same tire back in 1957.

The collection also includes tires for many iconic cars from the 50s to the 70s, as well as select models from more than 20 years ago. These include several Ferraris, the Mercedes 300SL, the Lamborghini Miura, the VW Beetle and the air-cooled Porsche 911.

Pirelli has worked closely with Porsche to offer five homologated sizes with the Cinturato CN36 and P7 compounds, offering the ‘perfect fit’ in terms of style and technical performance.

The tire company has used the same parameters the vehicle’s engineers used during the design process, using their archives in order to faithfully recreate the characteristics that complement the car’s original suspension setup and handling character for the aforementioned ‘perfect fit’.

As for the new materials, Pirelli’s new Collezione tires feature their high-performance nylon in the dual-ply carcass and high-tensile steel wire in the bead geometry, as well as a dedicated undertread compound. This results ultimately into offering much better grip and water expulsion than the original tires. Design-wise, the tires retain their original sidewall lettering.

The new Collezione tires will be available for purchase at Pirelli’s showroom in LA while classic Porsche owners can also find their sizes through the official Porsche US dealer network. For more information, visit Pirelli’s Collezione website.
