Hongqi’s range of new models continues to swell in China with the launch of this, the new H6 sedan, that was uncovered ahead of its public debut at November’s Guangzhou Auto Show.

Those familiar with other Hongqi models will immediately recognize the familiar front fascia of the H6, thanks to the angled headlights which connect seamlessly to the large rectangular grille. Other striking details found at the front of the H6 include trim accents around the fog lights, as well as the large red and chrome badge running vertically over the front fascia, just as it does in other Hongqi models.

The attractive sedan has a sleek profile and a slippery shape which, at the rear, is topped off by a slopping windshield and striking LED taillights connected by a prominent light bar. Arguably the most eye-catching aspect of the rear is the bumper with intriguing horizontal strakes on either side of the license plate holder. There is also chrome trim in place of a diffuser and then a pair of central tailpipes, also with a chrome finish. Completing the design are a set of large silver wheels with an intricate spoke design.

Car News China reports that the H6 will slot between the H5 and the larger H7 in the car manufacturer’s range.

Just a single powertrain option will be available, consisting of a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder pumping out 221 hp in base specification and 248 hp in the flagship model. As the car has yet to be officially launched, performance details haven’t been announced.
