The 2026 model is based on the 1500 Rebel with the Level 2 Equipment Group. It features an assortment of off-road goodies including a 1-inch (25 mm) lift, Bilstein shocks, and an electronic locking rear differential. They’re joined by front tow hooks, underbody skid plates, and black 18‑inch wheels wrapped in 33‑inch all‑terrain tires.

Customers will also find Rough Road Cruise Control, which is exclusive to the Rebel X. As the name suggests, it’s an off-road focused cruise control system that works at speeds up to 20 mph (32 km/h). The system enables drivers to focus on wheel placement and obstacles, and it also automatically adjusts suspension damping and steering weight based on terrain.

Besides the off-road gear, the truck sports unique “Rebel X” bedside graphics. It also offers a new Tank Clear-Coat paint job inspired by classic military green.

Despite the rugged exterior, the cabin should appeal to city slickers. The package adds a console-mounted shifter as well as leather and vinyl bucket seats with red contrast stitching. There are also steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, and a glass-encased center console badge with red accents.

This is on top of the usual Level 2 upgrades including a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch Uconnect infotainment system. They’re joined by heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a heated leather steering wheel.

Rounding out the equipment highlights are a dual wireless smartphone charger and a 19‑speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system.

Hurricane Power Only

Hemi fans need not apply as the Rebel X features a twin-turbo 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six developing 420 hp (313 kW / 426 PS) and 469 lb-ft (635 Nm) of torque. That means customers will have to forgo the V8 rumble, but are rewarded with an extra 25 hp (19 kW / 25 PS) and 59 lb-ft (80 Nm).

Cost Of Entry

Ram is currently accepting orders and pricing starts at $71,930 including destination. That’s a slight premium over the standard 1500 Rebel, which begins at $67,645.

However, adding the Level 2 package increases the cost of entry to $70,440, so upgrading to the Rebel X sounds like a no-brainer. That being said, it’s uncomfortably close to the $76,390 Ram 1500 RHO.

Pricing aside, Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis said “The Rebel X was a customer favorite last year, so we’re bringing it back for more.” He added the model “hits the sweet spot of advanced tech, interior comfort and true off‑road capability, all in an aggressive looking package backed by America’s best full‑size truck and van limited powertrain warranty.”
