Nissan Debuts Upgraded 30kWh Leaf [w/Video]

Nissan has finally pulled the ice off their improved Leaf, which is arriving in showrooms featuring a longer range and greater connectivity.

As Europe's reigning champ when it comes to electric vehicles, Nissan is proud to announce that it can now offer Leaf owners an extended range of up to 250 km (155 miles), as well as the latest NissanConnect EV infotainment system (in Acenta & Tekna trims), which includes improvements to the remote defrost feature and better functionality.

There's also a short video depicting the Leaf breaking out of its "ice cocoon" somewhere in the Scandinavian Mountains. Though 65 mm think, that ice is eventually no match for the upgraded EV.

"The new Nissan Leaf 30 kWh is a great example of Nissan's pioneering and innovative spirit", said Gareth Dunsmore, EV exec at Nissan Europe. "We constantly strive to push the boundaries of what is possible with zero emission technology - going further so our customers can go further."

Compared to the previous model, the Leaf 30 kWh can travel up to 26% further, therefore edging out all of its competitors within the segment, according to Nissan.

The footage also highlights the reliability and durability of the new Leaf, which has to undergo rigorous testing before it's handed over to customers. With that in mind, Nissan is offering a specially engineered Nordic Pack that is essentially a battery heater for those who have to deal with extremely low temperature conditions.
