Back in 2007, Nissan’s GT-R R35 came out and literally destroyed everything on its wake, especially on a straight line. Fast forward nine years, though, and it’s a different story.

Top Gear magazine brought together an Audi R8 V10 Plus, a Porsche 911 Turbo S and a McLaren 570S in order to find out how they compare against the latest iteration of the once dragstrip king, the Nissan GT-R.

Nissan might have increased the output of the turbocharged V6 by 20hp, bringing the total up to 565hp, but the GT-R’s legendary straight-line performance starts to fade away as the competition becomes faster and faster.

Porsche did it with the ballistic 911 Turbo S, Audi also managed the same with the latest R8 and even McLaren infused its entry-level 570S with such performance that is simply astonishing for a rear-wheel drive car with this amount of power.

Whether you are a GT-R fanboy or not, everyone should just respect the mighty Godzilla for its brilliant engineering but as the video portrays below, Nissan should better bring the new one out fast as the rest of the go-faster group is making it look its age.
