The event planners of the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show made good use of their Twitter page today by confirming the world premiere of the long-awaited Saab 9-4X compact crossover. This year’s edition of the LA automotive get-together, which is said to host more than 20 world debuts, will run from November 9 to 28.

The production version of the Saab crossover is expected to stay true to the 9-4X BioPower concept that was revealed at the 2008 Detroit Show and can be seen in the gallery below. The compact model was developed when Saab was still under the ownership of GM and as a result, shares its Theta platform and major drive components with the Cadillac SRX. Like its American sibling, the 9-4X will be built at GM’s factory in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico.

While we don’t have any official information on the available powertrains, a 2.0-liter turbocharged four as well as a more potent V6 engine should be on the table when sales start sometime during the first half of 2011.
