What’s the point of buying a hybrid vehicle if you’re going to tune it and consequently, lose on fuel economy? Well, even though some will beg to differ, SpeedART’s answer to that question when it comes to the new Porsche Cayenne Hybrid, is more power when needed without affecting the SUV’s capability to run in pure electric operation, in which case, both CO2 emissions and fuel consumption are down to zero.

The German tuning firm’s program for the Cayenne Hybrid bumps output on the 3.3-liter supercharged V6 TSI from 333HP to 407HP, thus increasing the petrol engine and electric motor system’s combined output from 380HP to 450HP. The 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint time drops from 6.5 sec to 6.0 sec, while top speed rises by 10km/h to 252km/h (157mph).

SpeedART’s tuning proposal for the hybrid version of the Cayenne also includes a sport exhaust system with a nifty sound switch and 2×100 mm tail pipes, along with new 22-inch forged alloys that the company says weigh the same as cast 21” wheels so fuel consumption remains unaffected by the change. The alloys are wrapped in 275/30 ZR22 tires at the front and 315/30 ZR22 at the back.

The company also offers a special decals finished in light-blue for the exterior as well as a lowering kit module for vehicle’s equipped with the air-ride system, and lowering springs for model’s with the conventional suspension.

Interior upgrades are limited to a new turbo pressure gauge mounted on the dashboard and a grey finish for the rev counter on the instrument panel.
