We will get our first opportunity to see the production version of the Yaris Hybrid at the 82nd Geneva Auto Salon in March, but prior to that, Toyota today announced pricing for the UK market and also gave out details on its fuel economy and emissions levels.

The new Yaris Hybrid is available for pre-order from Toyota showrooms in Britain now with an on-the-road price of “less than £15,000” with customer deliveries to commence from July 1.

In comparison, pricing for the regular, 99hp 1.33-liter gasoline powered Yaris ranges from £13,260 to £15,385, while the 90hp 1.4-liter diesel from £14,260 to £14,760.

The Yaris Hybrid features the same powertrain setup as the Prius C, combining a 1.5-liter Atkinson-cycle gasoline engine with a new electric motor, transaxle, inverter and battery pack, for a total system output of 99hp (74kW).

According to the Japanese company, it can deliver up to 80.7mpg UK (equal to 67.2mpg US or 3.5lt/100km) with CO2 emissions of just 79g/km, which qualifies it for free road tax in the UK, and makes it exempt from the London congestion charge.
